In 2019 there was The Railway Opera. I created a multi-channel immersive sound installation of sounds and noises in the museum’s Stolypin carriage. The Gulag History Museum and the Museum of the Occupation in Tallinn helped with the implementation of this work.

The sound installation inside the “Stolypin car” — a railroad car that was first used in the 1910s to bring migrants to Siberia according to the “Stolypin reform” initiatives, and in the Stalin times — for the transportation of the political prisoners, and for the forced deportation of entire peoples. Sound installation is woven from the ‘voices of the past’, diaries and memoirs of eyewitnesses the forced relocation. The installation was dismantled in May 2022.
